Born in Athens, Greece and raised by fine artists in Sedona, Arizona, film maker Amy Waddell has a strong visual sense that compliments her vivid storytelling ability.

This former rodeo girl is a graduate of USC Film School, and the American Film Institutes’ DWW program. Waddell has directed award winning shorts, documentaries and most recently her first feature length film, Brothel This ghost story stars Grace Zabriskie (Big Love, Wild at Heart) & Serena Scott Thomas (The World is Not Enough) and is distributed by Vanguard Cinemas.

Waddell’s documentary work includes The Reluctant Muse, a documentary about the nature of the muse in today’s art world which aired nationally on PBS. From 2007 through 2010 Amy wrote and produced a series of humanitarian documentaries for, a division of the Annenberg Foundation in Los Angeles. Spiritual India: River of Compassion, India’s Song, Darfur : Lives in Limbo and most recently Surviving White Waters, a doc about the lives and work of 12 Native American leaders, shot over the course of an 19 day white water river rafting trip through the Grand Canyon.

Mask Maker, her feature script inspired by the heroic work of artist Anna Coleman Ladd during WWI, has been optioned by Pan Europeenne in Paris, France. Waddell is set to direct.
